Rural Residential Electrification
Homes scattered across the low-lying haor villages near Tahirpur are cut off from the national grid for much of the year, with boat access being the only way in during the monsoon season. Households were relying on kerosene lamps for lighting and paying local vendors for mobile phone charging, both recurring costs that added up over a year, while kerosene smoke and fire risk were ongoing household health and safety concerns.
CZ Engineering supplied and installed 180 individual Solar Home Systems sized between 100W and 200W depending on household need, each with a battery, LED lighting points, and USB charging outlets. Installation teams worked village by village during the dry season by boat and on foot, and local youths were trained as first-line maintenance contacts so basic troubleshooting doesn't require waiting for a technician to travel back out.
